Lucy Mack Smith was Joseph Smith, Jr.'s mother. She is most noted for writing an award-winning memoir.

Of particular interest to Latter-day Saints residing in the Metro Detroit area, the major thoroughfare Mack Ave. was named after Luck Mack Smith's brother (The Prophet's uncle), Stephen Mack.
