In astrodynamics, the longitude of the periapsis (symbolized $\bar{\omega}\,$ ) of an orbiting body is the longitude (measured from the point of the vernal equinox) of periapsis (closest approach to the central body).

Calculation from state vectors

$\bar{\omega}\,$ can be calculated from longitude of ascending node ( $\Omega\,$ ) and argument of periapsis $\omega\,$ :

$\bar{\omega}=\Omega+\omega\,$

which are derived from orbital state vectors.
