Long Lawford is effectively a suburb of Rugby, although it is not officially part of the town. There are two parts of Long Lawford, the first part is the old village, which contains many old buildings and several pubs, and the second part is a modern council estate, which contains a primary school.

The village is next to the A428 road . The Rugby to Coventry railway line (West Coast Main Line) runs through the village, although it has never had a station.
