London Street Management is an arm of Transport for London (TfL), which is responsible for managing the main through routes in London, a total network of 580km of roads. These routes are also known as Red Routes , as they can be identified by their unique (within the United Kingdom) red road markings and signage.
London Street Management is also responsible for managing the London Congestion Charge, a fee that is charged to motorists entering the Central London area.
The remainder of the London street network is the responsibility of the individual London Boroughs.
