Lee Harwood

Lee Harwood (born 1939) is a poet associated with the British Poetry Revival.

He was born in Chertsey, Surrey and studied English at Queen Mary College , Unversity of London . With the exception of some time in Greece and the United States, he has lived in Brighton since 1967.

Harwood's first book, title illegible was published by Bob Cobbing's Writers Forum in 1965.

Harwood's writing is close to the poetry of the New York School, especially John Ashbery. His Crossing the frozen river: selected poems appeared in 1988 and his most recent book is Morning Light (1998).
