Lauren Stratford

Lauren Stratford was the alias under which Laurel Rose Willson, an American woman from Washington State, wrote three books, the most famous of which was Satan's Underground , purporting to tell a true story of her upbringing in a Satanic cult. After an investigation by the Christian magazine Cornerstone demonstrated that Stratford's story was false, Laurel Willson created another false identity with a horrific story to tell, pretending to be Laura Grabowski, a Jewish survivor of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Interestingly, one of the things that led to the exposure of "Laura Grabowski" was her befriending Binjamin Wilkomirski and claiming to remember him from the camps, when Wilkomirski himself (real name Bruno Grosjean) turned out to be neither Jewish nor a Holocaust survivor.

Willson died in April 2002.
