Lake Placid (movie)

Lake Placid is a 1999 comedy/horror film, directed by Steve Miner, about a 50-foot long alligator (created by famous Stan Winston Studios) which is released into a lake in Vermont. It quickly begins eating everything around it, including humans. The local game warden teams up with a paleontologist to figure out what it is and capture the animal.

The movie starred Bill Pullman, Bridget Fonda, Betty White, and Oliver Platt.

In the US, it was rated "R" for violence and language. In the UK, it was rated a 15.
