Lake Houston

Lake Houston is a man-made lake located northeast of Houston, Texas. It is the primary water supply for the city of Houston and much of the surrounding area. Situated between the suburbs of Humble, TX (pronounced Umble, with a silent H) on the west bank, and Huffman, TX on the east, the lake is spanned by an earthen bridge containing the traffic of FM 1960. The lake’s major tributary is the San Jacinto River.
