The Kyzyl Kum (Uzbek: red sand; also called Qyzylqum) is a desert in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

It is located near the city of Bukhara. It covers about 298,000 km² (approximately 115,000 square miles). It is known to have deposits of gold and natural gas. There are agricultural settlements along the rivers and oases.
