Kyogle, New South Wales

Kyogle is a town of approximately 4000 persons and Local Government Area in northern New South Wales, Australia on the Summerland Way. It is located 758 km north of Sydney, 32 km north of Casino and it lies on the banks of the Richmond River. It is the seat of its own shire. Kyogle is an Aboriginal Australian word meaning "place of the bush turkey".

Cattle grazing and dairy farming are the primary industries. In times past, lumberjacking was the main reason for settlement in the area, with red cedar and hoop pine the main timber trees. It is a gateway to many National Parks including Border Ranges National Park and Toonumbar National Park. It is served by the main Brisbane-Sydney railway line.
