Kungsbacka is a Municipality in Halland County, in southwest Sweden. It is located about 30 km south of Gothenburg. The total population is 65,113. The area is 610.3 km², with a population density of 107 inhabitants per km². Kungsbacka is closely integrated in the region of Metropolitan Gothenburg, but despite this it is administratively not a part Västra Götaland County like the rest of the region.

Kungsbacka's water is taken from fjärås bräcka.
