Kodokan InstituteThe Kodokan Institute is the home of the martial art and sport of Judo. The Kodokan was founded in 1882 by Professor Jigoro Kano. It was a derivative of Jujitsu which is an art of either attacking or defending using one's own body. The Institute was founded with only nine disciples.
