Kinglassie, Fife Scotland: Population in 2002 is approximately 1500 people.

Local landmarks include

• Blithy's Folly 1800 - Stands 800 feet above village Rich linen barons attempt to beat competition to best boats arriving at Fife coast.
• Dogton stone 800 - Stone believed to commemorate major battle between Picts and Scots.
• The Mitchell Hall 1896 - Donated to community by local farmer It has regained its place in the social life not only of local groups but has become an asset to Fife as a whole.

Kinglassie is a former mining village on the outskirts of Glenrothes. The mine closed in 1967 Near by Westfield open cast site is still regarded as the bigest man made hole in Europe

The Kinglassie & District Pipe Band was reformed in 1982. It currently is in Grade 4a and consists mainly of playing members of school ages. The current Pipe Major is Andi MacInnes.

Its Patron saint, Glastian , was a mediator between the Scots and Picts. He died in 830.
