Khanty-Mansiysk (Ха́нты-Манси́йск) is a town in Russia, capital of the Khantia-Mansia. It is located on the Irtysh River, 15 km from its confluence with the Ob.
Founded in 1930 as a workers' settlement Ostyako-Vogulsk, in 1940 renamed Khanty-Mansiysk, town status since 1950. (In has also incorporated the village of Samarovo, known since the 16th century.)
