Keith Sebelius (born September 10, 1916-August 6, 1983) was an American politician who served in the US House of Representatives (1969-1981). Sebelius was born in Norton, Kansas and grew up in the community. He attended Fort Hays State University and graduated in 1939. He earned a Law degree from George Washington University in 1942 and returned to Norton to practice law. He served on the city council for much of the 1950's. He became active in the Republican Party. He ran for a U.S. House seat, previously held by Bob Dole in 1968. He served for twelve years and was not a candidate for reelection in 1980. He passed away in August 1983 and is buried in Norton. His son, Gary Sebelius is a federal magistrate judge and the husband of Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius.
