Juninho

Juninho, full name Osvaldo Giroldo Junior, also known as Juninho Paulista, (born March 22, 1973 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian football (soccer) midfielder, a World Cup winner in 2002.

Juninho started his career with São Paulo in 1992. He made headways in England when he signed for Middlesbrough in 1995, as his classy play was a delight for Boro fans, but not enough to save the club from relegation in 1997. Juninho would switch to Atlético Madrid for two seasons, come back to Middlesbrough for 1999-2000, move back to Brazil with Vasco da Gama and Flamengo, before returning -- for his third stint -- to Boro in 2002. He signed with Celtic in 2004, but was released from his contract after 8 months, on April 5, 2005. He then signed with the Brazilian team, Palmeiras.

For Brazil, Juninho has been capped over 50 times. He helped his country to the World Cup title in 2002.
