John V. Evans

John V. Evans (born 1925) was the governor of the U.S. state of Idaho from 1977 until 1987. He is a member of the U.S. Democratic Party. He became governor when Cecil D. Andrus resigned in order to become the Secretary of the Interior of the United States. Evans was reelected in 1978 and 1982. His Republican opponent in 1982 was Phil Batt. He did not run for reelection in 1986.
