Jesper Blomqvist

Jesper Blomqvist (born February 5, 1974 in Tavelsjo ) was a Swedish football player.

Jesper was an excellent winger, who was injury prone. He was brought in a back-up to Ryan Giggs by Manchester United from Parma A.C. of Italy in 1998. While at United, he helped the club 3 league titles (1999, 2000, and 2001), one F.A. Cup in 1999 and one Champions League in 1999. He scored only one goal while at United.

Previous to Manchester United, Jesper played for Tavelso IK , Umea , IFK Göteborg, and AC Milan.

In 2001, Jesper signed with Everton and later joined Charlton Athletic. He then returned to his native Sweden and Djurgårdens IF. Blomqvist was part of the Swedish national team at the and was capped 30 times for his country.
