Jeffrey Jones

Jeffrey Duncan Jones (September 28, 1947) is an American character actor who had notable roles in films such as Amadeus, Howard the Duck, Beetlejuice, Mom and Dad Save the World , The Devil's Advocate, and Sleepy Hollow.

He is probably best known for his portrayal of the crazed high school principal, Mr. Rooney, in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Principal Rooney's obsessive quest to catch the popular high school student, Ferris Bueller, playing hookey was one of the most compelling comedy performances of the 1980s.

In 2002 he was arrested for possession of child pornography, and employing a minor to pose for pornographic photographs. Jones agreed to a plea deal in which he was ordered to undergo counseling, and register as a sex offender. He was later arrested after failing to notify Florida police when he moved there.
