Jane Davidson

Jane Davidson (born 1957) is the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning for the Welsh Assembly Government. She is the Assembly Member for Pontypridd and was originally appointed to the cabinet on 16 October 2000. She is also part of the Audit Committee and the Broadcasting Board of the Assembly.

Davidson was previously an English teacher, and a member of Cardiff City Council. She served as the Head of Social Affairs for the Welsh Local Government Association before her appointment to the Cabinet. She is also the Welsh Vice-President of the Ramblers' Association.

Davidson studied at Birmingham University and then took a PGCE at the University of Wales. As of 2004, she lives in Gwaelod-y-Garth with her husband and three children.
