Jack W. Smith (born August 11, 1947) is a member of the town council of Cary, North Carolina.

Born in Furth, Germany , Smith earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Oklahoma. A Vietnam-era veteran of the United States Army, Smith served in the military for 11 years and attained the rank of captain. He currently works as a business consultant. A resident of Cary since 1986, Smith was first elected to the Cary Town Council in 1989 and, in 2001, was re-elected to his fourth term, representing Cary's District C; he currently serves as mayor pro tem. Although his office is officially non-partisan, Smith is affiliated with the Republican Party.
