Inner Wheel Club

(Redirected from Inner Wheel)

Inner Wheel Club is an international organisation which is closely linked to the Rotary Club. Prior to 1989 the Rotary Club prohibited women as members. This only occurred after many years of debated in this generally conservative club - and to date, women only make up a tenth of the club's memberships. As such a second club was made for the wives and daughters of Rotarians: the Inner Wheel Club. Despite the ability of women to now join the Rotary Club - many Inner Wheels still exist in many different countries.

They state their objectives as:

  • to promote true friendship
  • to encourage the ideals of personal service
  • to foster international understanding
