Ingrid Kristiansen

Ingrid Kristiansen (March 21, 1956 - ) was in the second half of the 1980s the world’s best female long distance runner. She was world champion in 10000 meters in 1987, and sat five track world records in the course of her career. For many years, she also held the world record for marathon (2:21:06). She won several prestigious marathon races, such as New York, Chicago, Boston and London. Kristiansen was also a gifted cross-country skier; she was European champion for juniors in 1974, and won eight Norwegian championships in relay.
