Illichville

Illichville is a proposed planned community that incorporates elements from the ecology movement and voluntary simplicity. This community presents a utopian vision of the good life which includes organic, well-prepared food, low-energy transportation, and artisan-based production.

The FAQ states Illichville is "the first American city built for the Post-Industrial Age" and will make extensive use of green belts. Unlike typical US communities, this communitiy will keep out cars, corporate chains, and factory-made goods.

Although not discussed on the website, a sequence from the Roadkill Bill comic strip (#68 through #73) states that Illichville will also ban computers, cellphones, and televisions (specifically in #69). Illichville is named after Ivan Illich and, as noted in the Wikipedia article, he advocated the use of advanced technology to support "learning webs".
