Huntingtower Castle

Huntingtower Castle in Perthshire was built in the 13th century by the Ruthven family. Mary, Queen of Scots, was a visitor, and her son, James VI was held prisoner there in 1582.

Originally named Ruthven, after the imprisonment of James VI the crown siezed the property, renaming it Huntingtower, then later gifted it to the Murray family of Tullibardine.

The castle is used today for civil wedding ceremonies.
