Hunter Foster

Hunter Foster is a Broadway actor, singer, and playwright.

Foster was born on June 25, 1969 in Statesboro, Georgia. He obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Studies from the University of Michigan in 1992, after which he moved to New York City.

After touring in several shows and playing on Broadway, he was cast in his breakthrough role, that of Bobby Strong in Urinetown, for which he received a Tony Award nomination.

In 2003, Foster starred as Seymour in the Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors, for which he received his second Tony Award nomination.

Most recently, Foster appearted as Leo Bloom in The Producers on Broadway.

He wrote the libretto for the musical Summer of '42 which opened off-Broadway in 2002.

He is the brother of actress Sutton Foster (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and husband of actress Jennifer Cody .
