Hoyvik has grown in size for many years and is now merged with Torshavn. Hoyvik is now the east part of Torshavn. Many new houses have been built in Hoyvik. Detached houses and also row houses. When purchasing a row house one buys the two outer walls and then builds the intervening house in colours and design of own wish. This results in a funny looking chain of homes each with the personal ‘touch’ of the family living in it.
