Horwich

Horwich (pronounced "Horrich") is a town in Greater Manchester, England, near Bolton. It was once the site of the locomotive works of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. The resident population of Horwich, as measured in the 2001 Census, was 14,343 of which 48 per cent were male and 52 per cent were female. In 1891 the population was 12,850.

Transport

In 1967 Horwich Railway Station closed; 32 years later Horwich Parkway Railway Station opened in 1999. Manchester Airport is 1 hour away by train.
