Hilsa, also pronounced Ilish is the national fish of Bangladesh. It is a member of the genus Tenualosa of the family Clupeidae, order Clupeiformes.

Hilsa is mainly available in the river Padma , Meghna and Also Jamuna . Those from Padma are considered to be the best in taste.
