Hells Gate, British Columbia

Hells Gate is the name for a 35 metre (110 foot) narrowing of British Columbia's Fraser River Canyon. It is also the name of a rural community at the same location.

Construction of the Canadian Northern Railway in 1913 triggered a large landslide which further constricted the river and damaged salmon runs for decades until fishways were constructed. It is located immediately downstream of Boston Bar .

An aerial tramway has crossed the river at this location since 1971.
