Hector MacLean, Lord of Dowart (c1560-c1630); aka Hector MacLean of Dowart; aka Hector MacLean of Duart aka Hector Og Maclean was a Scottish Lord of the Clan MacLean.
Birth
Hector was most likely the son of Lachlan Mor MacLean, Lord of Dowart (c1535-1598) and Margaret Cunningham of Glensairen. He married Isabella Atcheson of Gosford. Isabella was the daughter of Archibald Atcheson of Gosford. Together they had the following children: John Hans MacLean, Iain Dubh Baronet (1604-1666) who moved to Sweden and took the name John Hans Makeléer and married Anna Gubbertz (c1595-1653); Donald MacLean, 1st Laird of Brolas who married Florence MacLean who was his cousin; and Isabelle MacLean. He may have had a daughter: Katherine MacLean (1590-?) who married Sir John of Dunollie (c1585-1634), Seventeenth chief of the clan and the son of Duncan (16th) of Dunollie in 1610.
