Hanging valley

A Hanging valley is a type of glacial feature that represents the site of a former glacier. The hanging valley differs from other glacial valleys in that it is at a higher altitude and smaller than the main glacial valley. The hanging valley is the result of a feeder (or tributary) glacier that has melted away. Hanging valleys often have a waterfall that drains into the main glacial valley.
