HMS Leopard (1790)

HMS Leopard was a British 50-gun Ship-of-the-Line involved in the Chesapeake-Leopard Affair. The Leopard, in an attempt either to recover run British sailors or to press American sailors into the service of the Royal Navy, fired into and boarded the USS Chesapeake, an American Frigate. This incident was one of several which led in part to the War of 1812.
