Guillermo Stábile (January 17, 1905 - December 27, 1966) was an Argentine footballer. He was born in Parque Patricios, Buenos Aires.

With 8 goals in 4 matches, Stábile was the top scorer of the first Football World Cup, held in 1930. He didn't play on the first match of Argentina, and played the second match only because Cherro couldn't play.

He played for Huracán (1920~30) in Argentina, and then for Genoa (1934~35) and Napoli (1935~36) of Italy, and Red Star Paris (1936~39) of France.

After retiring, Stábile coached the Argentine national team from 1939 to 1960, with a total of 127 matches, making him one of the few coaches with more than 100 international matches. (As of 2004 there are eight).

Stábile drove Argentina to six South American Championships: in 1941, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1955 and 1957.
