Greene King is a well-known beverage company with a brewery in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, UK. There is a visitor centre next door to the brewery, and tours can be arranged. The company also owns pubs and hotels including the Hungry Horse chain. Greene King dominates the pub scene in many parts of East Anglia, with a large number of both urban and rural establishments. The company has won awards for its pubs in recent years. They started brewing in 1799 and as of 2005 produce and market several brands of ale including:
- Greene King IPA (an India Pale Ale)
- Old Speckled Hen (formerly brewed at Morland brewery )
- Abbot Ale
- Ruddles County (formerly brewed at Ruddles brewery )
- The Beer To Dine For intended to demonstrate that beer can be served with food instead of wine. Its ingredients include tettnang hops imported from Washington state. Originally sold in their pubs it is now sold in bottles in British supermarkets.
