Great Float

The Great Float, is a dock at Birkenhead, United Kingdom. It was built between 1851-1860. It was built on the site of Wallasey Pool , the entrance was through Egerton Dock. The construction of Alfred Dock in 1866 provided access for larger ships.

It has 110 acres (450,000 m²) of water and more than four miles (6 km) of quays, divided between the East Float and the West Float.

The Resurgam was tested in the great float.
