- For the UK award see The Record of the Year
The Record of the Year is one of the two most prestigious Grammy Awards presented annually. It has been awarded since 1959. Originally presented to the artist alone, the award is now presented to the artist, the producer and the engineer and/or mixer. Years reflect the year in which the Grammy Awards were handed out, for music released in the previous year. Often, a recording nominated for Record of the Year is also nominated for Song of the Year and the winner of these two awards may be the same.
