Garner State Park

Garner State Park is one of most visited state parks in Texas. It is located on the Frio River 30 miles (48 km) north of Uvalde, Texas and named for John Nance Garner, former Vice-President of the United States. It was the subject of a song by B.J. Thomas.

Generations of Texans know Garner for the dances that occur nightly during the summer at the pavilion. Many people who come to Garner enjoy tubing the Frio. It is a favorite among families.
