The Gandhi Peace Award is an annual award, in honour of Mahatma Gandhi. The annual award has been issued since 1960, presented by the American-based organization Promoting Enduring Peace . The award consists of a certificate, a ceremony, and the presentation of a bronze medallion inscribed with a quote by Gandhi, "Love Ever Suffers/Never Revenges Itself." The award was first proposed by Jerome Davis , on March 13, 1959. The award is unrelated to the International Gandhi Peace Prize presented annually by the government of India.
