Gásadalur is located on the west-side of Vágar, Faroe Islands, and is enjoying the view over the island Mykines.

Only 16 people live in Gásadalur. The village has been in danger of depopulation. In early 2004 a tunnel was blasted through the mountains so the village is now connected to the road network of the island.

In 1940 a stairway was built from the beach up to the village that is located high on the island.
