Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev (1803 - 1873) was a significant Russian lyric poet. His bleak poem Silence inspired two early-20th century composers, Nikolay Myaskovsky and Nikolai Medtner (Silence tonepoem and Night Wind piano sonata respectively.)
