Fudoshin Ryu Jujitsu if a 'style' of the Japanese martial art Jujitsu. Founded by Professor R Lawrence 10th Dan, one of the worlds leading martial artists.He has studied martial arts for most of his life, gaining knowledge all over the world. He put together his own system of martial arts using his knowledge and experience, not only in the do-jo but in practical situations he has encountered throughout his diverse life.
Code of Honour
"HONOUR IN ALL THINGS". All members should read and fully understand the Code of Honour and attempt at all times to conform with its principals in their everyday activites.
To treat all people regardless of nationality, colour, creed or social status as equals in friendship and co-operation.
Not to succumb to any action or in-action that is determined by cowardice.
To protect the weak, helpless, children, aged people, women, etc. without regard for personal safety, preference or personal gain.
Not to hold back from offering assistance in all ways possible to your fellow members of the Association.
Not to violate the laws of the Country in which you reside.
Never to use the knowledge and ability you have attained for personal gain, other than to assist the weak and helpless or in direct defence of your person and personal belonings, and only then with control.
To behave in an honourable manner at all times.
To respect those in Authority.
To be moderate in all things, especially in the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, drugs and such like.
To behave in a humble and respectful manner, and not to wear clothing of an offensive nature, not to present yourself in an immodest fasion.
To preside over your family with honour, caring for their needs with kindness and respect.
To regard your word as unbreakable.
Traditional Dress
Students must wear a Gi with black trousers and white top, along with the coloured Obi (belt) signifying their rank. People holding a grade of 1st kyu or higher may wear an entirely back Gi along with black Hakama. In the presence of a person who has a higher Dan grade the Gi is coloured. When a student completes the first Dan grading a colour is chosen to match the persons fighting style.
The colouring as belts is as follows:
- 7th mon/kyu - mauve
- 6th mon/kyu - yellow
- 5th mon/kyu - orange
- 4th mon/kyu - green
- 3rd mon/kyu - blue
- 2nd mon/kyu - brown
- 1st mon/kyu - black with white stripe
