Friezland is a small village, which is situated four miles east of Oldham, Greater Manchester. It is one of the villages in the Saddleworth area, part of Oldham Metropolitan Borough. Friezland is situated on the banks of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, and has a church and a primary school. It is also the original home of Friezland Brass Band , conducted by one of the few female brass conductors in the UK, Lana Clough . The band has now set up a base in Mossley, Tameside.
