Farewell to Manzanar is a book published in 1972 by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and James D. Houston .

Farewell to Manzanar is Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston's memoir of herself and her family being detained at the Manzanar internment camp after the attack on Pearl Harbor, which got the United States into World War II. Jeanne was seven years old at the time. Wakatsuki Houston and her parents and siblings are Japanese American.

The novel has become a staple of curriculum in schools and on campuses across the United States.
