Emory and Henry College

Emory and Henry College is a Methodist college in Emory, Virginia . The college was founded in 1836, making it the oldest college in Southwest VA. The enrollment is around 1,000 students.

Located just off of Interstate 81 in the Appalachian Mountains, the campus is 331 acres (1.3 km²), and is roughly delimited by a railroad track on the North side and the college's golf course to the South. There is a scenic area in the middle of the camplus, with a duck pond built on the foundations of a springhouse, where the denizons of the original campus refrigerated their food.

The college's sports teams are known as the Wasps and it is a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
