Ella Cara Deloria (also called Anpetu Wastewin, 1888-1971) was an educator, anthropologist, ethnographer, and writer of Sioux background. She recorded Sioux oral history and legends, and wrote a novel, Waterlily, published in 1988 (several decades after its creation).
