Edmund Fitzalan-Howard, 1st Viscount Fitzalan of Derwent

Edmund Bernard Fitzalan-Howard, 1st Viscount Fitzalan of Derwent (June 1, 1855 - May 18, 1947), previously known as Lord Edmund Talbot, was the last Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, and the first Roman Catholic to hold the post. The post ceased to exist with the coming into existence of the Irish Free State and its 1922 Irish constitution. The office was replaced by the Governor-General of the Irish Free State.

He was born "Fitzalan-Howard". He assumed the surname "Talbot" by Royal licence in 1876 as part of an unsuccessful attempt to succeed as Earl of Shrewsbury, and returned to the use of his paternal name by Royal licence of 1921. During the minority of his nephew Bernard Marmaduke Fitzalan-Howard, 16th Duke of Norfolk he served as Deputy Earl Marshal.
