East Didsbury is a prosperous area of South Manchester. East Didsbury and Manchester City Centre are the only areas of the city which have seen their population increase in the last 10 years.

The quality of housing in East Didsbury is high, and price rises for property have been substantial in the recent past. This is also fueled by the fact that there are excellent transport links and parks in the area.

The central shopping area, along Wilmslow Road has become a popular area exhibiting cafe culture with many new bars, cafes and delis opening in the recent past.

Further growth is expected in the area although many buyers are now being priced out of the market and so neighbouring areas such as Withington and the Four Heatons are experiencing similar growth.
