EPIA is a line of motherboards manufactured by VIA. Its main purpose is to be smaller, use less power, and create less heat. It is commonly used for portable devices such as a carputer, and for network applications such as firewalls. These motherboards also generally cost less overall than a standard mainboard and have their processor integrated into the motherboard. Most of the earlier EPIA models used the VIA C3 processor whilst newer models additionally use the VIA Eden.
