"Diretas Já!" (meaning "Direct [vote] Now!") was a popular campaign that happened in Brazil in 1984. Millions of people went to the streets to demand the return of free elections (i.e. direct vote) for president.
Ulysses Guimarães was one of the main leaders of the campaign, and he became one of the biggest opponents of the Military dictatorship in Brazil.
